A How-To Guide On Being Single In Malta
‘Happily ever after’ is not real, it’s a myth.
There are so many ways to be both happy and single, you don’t need to be in a relationship to find the joy of life.
One of the best things about the single life is that you don’t have to consider someone else’s opinion when making decisions – you have the freedom to do whatever you want to do.
Here are 9 things to consider to help you be happily single in Malta:
1. You’ve got more money for pastizzi
You can use your money selfishly – there isn’t an extra person in your life which you’d need to share some of your money with, by paying for nights out and gifts.
2. And you’ll learn how to avoid questions from family members
”Are you dating anyone ah?”, ”what happened to that sweet boy you were seeing ah?”, and ”how are you feeling after the break up AH?”
These questions can get really old, really fast. There are two ways to avoid them, you either tell them you don’t want to engage in the conversation, or act like you didn’t even hear them.
3. Volunteer
There are plenty of places to volunteer at in Malta. You will not only be doing good in the world, but also taking your mind off of things. You might even meet new people, or find a passion of yours.
Here are some places where you can do this.
4. Go to Paceville if you want random hook-ups
The opposite goes, if you’re looking for a relationship. Paceville is the perfect place to go to if you want to drink, dance, and hook-up with plenty of guys and girls – not the healthiest solution… but you do you boo!
5. Find a new hobby
Maybe start doing pottery, or painting, or start singing lessons, and make the Eurovision your goal!
Finding a hobby can help you find what you’re good at, and what you enjoy doing, and thus finding happiness in yourself.
6. Embrace solo sex
Masturbation can sometimes be a bit of a stigma, especially amongst the older generation, and especially when it comes to women masturbating.
Learn how to not only embrace it, but enjoy it.
7. Don’t go back to your ex whenever you feel lonely
This can be very tempting at times, especially when you’re a few drinks in.
But try to resist, surround yourself with friends who will stop you in any means necessary, even if that means physically holding you down, or taking your phone from you.
8. Build a support system
Find friends who only have your best interest at heart.
When I was going through a break-up, the only thing which got me through it were my closest friends – nothing else.
9. Don’t be afraid to seek out therapy
You will never understand the benefits of therapy, until you experience it.
A therapist may guide you into becoming the best version of yourself, and this will eventually lead you into a happy relationship.
