If you’re a big fan of robots and all things technology, brace yourself for a weekend unlike any other.

The Malta Robotics Olympiad has steadily become the largest event in Malta of its kind, and it will be returning to the MFCC this weekend.

The event’s aim is that of bringing together people who share an enthusiasm for robots so that together they can develop and create — all the while honing their problem solving skills through a series of robotics challenges.

The Malta Robotics Olympiad will also host the Malta JNR Lego League for children from eight to 11 years old.

This year, for the first time the event will also be hosting the DIY BOTS Challenge, A Java Hackathon powered by ICE Malta — CODESPRINTmt. A Design and Technology Expo, and the Lego Sumo National Qualifiers.

Beyond that, there will also be a number of exhibitors, including Forestals, ICE Malta, Puttinu Cares and Vintage Computer Club Malta.

The event will be free of charge and there will be workshops happening throughout the day. It will be open for the public all weekend from Friday 20th April at 4:30pm till 10:30pm.

On Saturday, MRO will be opening its doors at 9 and will close at 10:30pm, whilst on Sunday the event will take place between 10:30am till 6pm.
