Awesome Boating Experiences In Malta For Every Budget

Article Featured Image

No matter what your summer activities budget is, you’ve got to make sure it includes getting out onto that gorgeous Mediterranean water on some form of sea vessel. You really can’t call it a Maltese summer otherwise.

So here are some ideas you can capitalise on to make sure you get your boat on this summer.

1. Short boat trips – under €5

Okay, even though we’re missing one Azure Window, it doesn’t mean that the cheap AF boat trips in Gozo are not totally worth investing in at least once during the summer months. You’ll still get to see the inland sea at Dwejra and all the gorgeous caves and coral magnificence you can imagine.

5. Ferrying – €15

Catching a ferry to either Comino or Gozo will cost you close to nothing and you’ll get to experience the awesomeness of Malta’s archipelago. How’s that for a sweet deal?

2. Jet-skiing – €35

Yes, yes, we know – jet skis are not actually boats. But we’re going to go ahead and classify them as mini-boats. Fifteen minutes of thrills on these speedy mofos will only set you back €35.

6. Day cruises – €35

IF you want all the boating luxury without the boating planning then a day cruise is perfect for you. The ‘Hera’ boat days are quintessentially Mediterranean, and they’re a perfect way to see the islands. Plus, for anyone who loves the idea of being on a boat until they realise they actually hate it – day cruises perfectly fit the this-is-still-an-amazing-idea window.

3. Kayaking – €69

A full-day’s hire of a two-person kayak is only going to cost around €35 each. Just make sure to avoid the hottest months of summer because otherwise you’ll be paying to roast yourself alive.

4. RIB cruising – €225

Chartering a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) for four people would cost you just over the €200 mark – so just €50 each for a whole day of high-speed exploration.

7. Catamaran travel – €164

Virtu Ferries offers a €164 return ticket on their catamaran trip to Sicily. Not only will you get your boat fix, you can explore a whole new country while you’re at it.

8. Yacht charter – € 540

If you want one day out on a gorgeous yacht then all you need is about €135 and three friends. If you’ve got up to ten friends who are interested a day on a yacht could cost you as little as €65. Just think of the Instagram moments. #BigPicture
