Chopped Trees, Pollution, Traffic And More: Maltese Psychiatrists’ Conference To Tackle Environment
The Maltese Association of Psychiatry (MAP) is hosting its annual conference on 28th and 29th November at the Mediterranean Conference Centre in Valletta focusing on the impact environment has on mental health.
“In the face of climate change, noise, traffic, pollution and waste, and trees being chopped down” MAP announced this year’s chosen theme is Mental Health and the Environment as they plan to focus on the relationship between environmental factors and health during this conference.
MAP is bringing together a community of academics, professionals, activists and experts by experience to share information and create awareness on this topic while also calling policy makers to action to invest in prevention strategies and to work towards achieving optimal mental health.
The conference will include several discussions including “the Environment and Wellbeing in Malta”, “the Built Environment and Mental Health”, “the Obesogenic Environment”, “Evolution and Psychiatry”, “Environmental Therapeutics”, “Thriving at Home”, “Right to Silence”, “The Family Environment” and “The Environment and Health”.
