Cinemoon Winter Edition Goes To Manoel Island

Sunday afternoon plans – sorted.

Cinemoon

After a great season of outdoor, cinema-watching evenings Cinemoon are giving us a bonus round on Manoel Island.

Triq Cinemoon Festival winter edition takes place this Sunday November 27th. For this special event the organisers are working together with Kamp Emerġenza Ambient to put on the screening at newest hipster hangout – The Funky Monkey.

This screening will have one major difference to the rest of the year's programme. In the organisers' own words:

"With this special Cinemoon´s screening we aim to call some attention to the abandoned state of the island, about how this beautiful and symbolic place has been forgotten by the authorities and politicians in the past years, about how a space that should be public and used for people´s enjoyment has been mostly in private hands."

Manoel Island has been at the heart of the nation's general development outcry this year, with pubic option on the fate of the island being at an all time high, and one man's personal protest sending out a strong message against its privatisation

So the event is a happy blend of a history-lesson-tour, awesome music, an audience-selected flick, and to close off – a party. You can read more about the programme here.
