Easter Online! Events To Enjoy From The Comfort Of Your Maltese Home This Holy Weekend
Admittedly this isn’t the Easter weekend we were all hoping for but just because there’s a virus going around, it doesn’t mean we have to stop having fun.
With the emergence of online streaming, there’s plenty of things to tune into during this religious holiday and there’s something out there that caters to everyone – from virtual easter egg hunts to performances by world-famous tenors.
Here’s everything going down this Easter weekend…
1. Heritage Malta goes online…
While family excursions are frowned upon, a virtual online tour is totally encouraged. Heritage Malta now offers virtual experiences of over 35 sites and a vast database of interactive content – from exclusive virtual exhibitions to archaeological lectures.
Just head over to the ‘Museums & Sites’ section of Malta Heritage’s website and help yourself to a slice of Maltese history – complete with helpful facts and photos.
2. Tony’s throwbacks
Everyone loves a good throwback party even if it is over livestream. Old-school cats can enjoy their favourite tunes from the 80s and 90s with DJ Tony Tony spinning vinyl today at 3 pm.
3. Frontliners in our hearts
Easter is all about spreading love and our frontliners hold a special place in our hearts this year. On Easter Sunday, let’s all unite to thank those working during these difficult times, to keep all of us safe.
Download the heart picture from the event page or from The Salott (RUBS) Facebook page – colour it in, and hang it on your front door, window or balcony with coloured ribbon or string to show our frontliners how much you really care for them.
4. Spacetastic! A virtual Easter egg hunt
Easter isn’t the same without an egg hunt and Gozo Spacelab has found a way to go about doing that while sticking to all social distancing measures.
Spacetastic! is a virtual egg hunt and quiz that children can play anywhere in the world on Gozo Spacelab’s website.
Meet-up on Messenger or Zoom, see who finds the eggs first. Then hold a quiz at the end to see who was paying attention to the galactic facts!
5. Music must go on
Life has stopped but music must carry on and Bunker Rave is taking their signature secret sunset raves online with a techno livestream tonight.
In addition to streams, sunsets and sexy house beats, Molecular Fusion will also be taking cocktail orders prior to and during the show.
BONUS: Andrea Bocelli’s Easter Concert
Acclaimed opera singer Andrea Bocelli will perform a live streamed concert from the Duomo Cathedral in Milan, Italy for Easter Sunday!
The world-renowned tenor will bring us joy this Sunday with a free live stream concert that will begin at 7 pm.
Not too bad for an Easter Sunday, right?
