Explore An Abstract Re-Imagination Of Smell At Stefan Carbonaro’s Second Solo Art Exhibition
Join Stefan Carbonaro for a multisensory experience exploring the artistic interpretation of living without a sense of smell.
In Carbonaro’s second solo abstract art exhibition, he challenges preconceived notions of sensory perception by questioning the very essence of smell and how interconnected our senses truly are.
“The absence of smell in my life has given me a unique perspective on how I interpret the world,” Carbonaro said in an official statement, “I use the other senses not as substitutes but as complementary in the quest to understand what it means to smell.”
Delve into a visual exploration of the re-imagination of scents from flowery fields to freshly baked bread, where the artist utilises acrylics and oils to mimic the human senses.
Carbonaro says that other senses can aid in the interpretation of scent: The textured skin of an orange or the dry porous surface of charcoal, the sound of rustling leaves or the hissing of a teapot.
“This exhibition is a journey through the multisensory landscape of smell, reimagined,” said Carbonaro.
Get a chance to join Stefan’s journey at the Mapfre MSV Life in Floriana open till 31st October.
The exhibition is open from 8am to 5pm from Monday to Thursday, and 8am till 3.30pm on Fridays.
