It’s officially December tomorrow, and we’re trying to get as many events in to fill our calendars because ’tis the season! We’re not just talking Christmas related events though…

Here are our top picks of things to do in Malta this weekend. Get planning

1. Italian Taste Event, 30th Nov – 2nd Dec, Valletta

This weekend, join the Italian Cuisine Academy and is-Suq tal-Belt Valetta Food market for the very first edition of the Italian Taste Event.

Expect Italian cuisine and quality Artisanal Italian food. Various Italian producers and award-winning chefs will lead demonstrations and showcasing their skills.

Entrance is free.

2. Free Christmas Decoration Classes, 1st Dec – 2nd Dec, Ta’ Qali

Impress your family and friends this Christmas by learning how to make some gorgeous Christmas decorations.

Floral designer Nanette Camilleri holds classes which centre on different elements of Xmas decorations.

This weekend, she will focus on teaching centrepiece flower arrangements.

There are only 12 seats available (other visitors will be welcome but cannot be guaranteed a seat) and the class is free of charge.

3. The Hip Hop Weekend, 1st Dec – 2nd Dec, Valletta

If hip hop is your thing (or performing arts in general) then head on over to The Hip Hop Weekend at The City Theatre.

There you’ll be able to enjoy unique hip hop performances from Japanese, French and Maltese artists.

4. A Fundraising Vegan Afternoon Tea, 2nd Dec, St Julian’s

Enjoy some delectable vegan cakes and baked goods all in the name of charity. All proceeds will go towards helping Vegan Malta and Animal Liberation Malta to help cover the costs of medical checks, neutering, vaccinations, chipping and the food of rescued animals.

The event is being hosted at the wonderful U&Co Social Cafe

5. Hugos Terrace Goes Live With The Rifffs, 2nd Dec, St Julian’s

The Rifffs, Malta’s biggest ska band, are heading to Hugo’s Terrace to kick of the festive season.

Lead singer and X Factor Malta judge, Ray Mercieca and the band will be performing live for their debut event at Hugo’s Terrace. Entrance is free.

6. Comedy Night Open Mic, 2nd Dec, Msida

Everyone loves to laugh and some have the gift of being funny AF.

Fancy yourself a budding comedian? Then head on over to the Rabbit Hole for their first open mic comedy night.

If you’re too shy, then just sit in the audience.

7. Etnika live at Teatru Manoel, 30th Nov, Valletta

Maltese band Etnika, one of Malta’s leading modern folk bands, will be doing a live performance at Teatru Manoel.

This performance is being organized by Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Malti and supported by Valletta 2018 – European Capital of Culture.

8. Rock & Rave 2018 Finale at Rumors, 30th Nov, Pieta

Ravers and booty-shakets rejoice and head over to the last RnR of the year and the first one at Rumours.

Accompanying Goa & Morales will be Keith St John from Lollipop with a special Indie Set & I.YOU (or very own David Grech Urpani) will be rocking sh*t up!

They’ll be giving a free drink to the first 100 people to walk in the door.

9. Mistura’s new album launch, 1st Dec, Żebbuġ

MISTURA will be launching their second album REGĦBUS with new songs in Maltese.

You’ll be able to buy the album for the very first time on the night for a special price of €10.
