If You’re Looking For Some Live Maltese Music This Weekend – You’re Spoilt For Choice
Wth the local music scene saturated with epic talent and with the winter season being the most ideal for intimate gigs – this weekend is a gift for anyone who’s in the mood for some awesome live music.
There’s something for everyone. Here’s four events you can choose from for a super night. Toss a coin if needs be.
1. Prog The Islands: Archipelaprog
Taking place over the whole weekend at Razett L-Abjad, this festival includes six bands from all over the progressive rock spectrum, packed into two days.You can find info on the running order and ticket prices on the Facebook event page. And don’t worry – even though online ticket purchasing is closed, you can totally get yours at the door.
2. Domus #2: Jack’s Fusion and The Travellers
Tonight Jack’s Fusion and The Travellers will be playing in a free, acoustic gig within the intimate atmosphere of the Teatru Salesjani. There’s literally no reason you shouldn’t be there at 8pm to get a good spot for when the band starts at 8.30pm. More info on their event page.
3. A Night With Just Joseph and Robert Farrugia
As part of the 40th year Anniversay Celebrations of when AZAD (the Academy for the Development of a Democratic Environment) was set up, Be-Wild Events are bringing us a night of ambient music by JustJoseph and Robert Farrugia. JustJoseph is a solo instrumentalist who creates rich ambient soundscapes using his guitar and pedal board. If you’re looking for one incendiary sounds – make your way down to Palazzo Pereira on Republic Street in Valletta. It’s €5 entrance will promises to be worth every cent.
4. Christmassy Sundays at The Villa
If you’re after the perfect blend of gig and socialising with literally everyone you know – head down to The Villa tomorrow night. Melchior Sultana and Mark Harrison will be providing some awesome background music while you sip your mulled wine and try to hook up with the person you’ve been Facebook stalking for months.
