Lovin Live Is Back Tonight With Brooke Borg And Marvin Gauci

It’s Monday, and you know what that means; Lovin Live is back!

This time, it’s Brooke Borg and Marvin Gauci‘s turn to be put on the spot by our very own Chucky Bartolo.

Brooke may only be 25 years old, but the Maltese singer has been steadily making waves both locally and internationally for a couple of years now. Always the singer, she had moved to London when she was only 17 years old with no contacts but a lot of ambition. She started gigging, and eventually ended up performing at prestigious venues like the 02 Academy and opening for artists like Taio Cruz, Loreen and Laura Pausini. She even collaborated with Grammy Award winning songwriters in the UK and South America, also releasing a duet with Italian Sanremo winner Tony Maiello. Back in Malta, Brooke was only getting started.

The young Maltese singer was asked whether she was interested in taking part in the Eurovision for a while, and in 2016, she decided to take the plunge. Writing a song, Golden, just one month before the deadline, Brooke entered the competition… placing second only to Ira Losco. Brooke was back this year with Unstoppable, a firm favourite of many people. The song eventually finished in fourth place with 2,000 votes.

With such a good track record, the sky is clearly the limit for Brooke. In fact, Brooke recently announced that her new song, Heart of Gold, has been shortlisted as the Final 16 for this year’s Malta Eurovision Song Contest. Could this be the year she proves to everyone that “fuq tlieta toqgħod il-borma”?

Marvin Gauci, on the other hand, is a superstar in his own field, and that’s whipping up the most mouth-watering food on the island.

The Maltese restaurateur owns three top Maltese restaurants – Caviar & Bull, Tarragon and Buddhaman, but he too has even more incredible plans for the future. This summer, a new Caviar & Bull branch in Budapest’s Corinthia Hotel shot to the number one place on TripAdvisor for restaurants in the city, beating over 2,500 other local eateries.

Marvin is of course also the brains behind Dinner In The Sky, the highly successful elegant dining experience with a flair for the adventurous. And that really is the key to understanding Marvin; when we had gone to Caviar & Bull to celebrate 50,000 likes on Facebook earlier this year, he had opened a bottle of super expensive champagne with Napoleon’s sword. On the same night, he had sat down at our table and chatted with us all night, leading to one hilarious night.

Just this month, Marvin was described by top Italian chef Bruno Barbieri as “the chef with the biggest potential to put Malta’s name on the map”, going on to say that he wants to bring Gauci to Masterchef.

Lovin Live is kicking off tonight at 7.30pm on Facebook Live. So find somewhere comfortable and join in the fun; you’re not going to want to miss this!
