Malta’s Techno Legend Is Finally Returning To Gozo For A Carnival Extravaganza
We might all still be feeling stuffed and deep in those post-Christmas blues, but hundreds of Maltese people woke up to something great to look forward to all the way in Carnival. One of the country’s biggest techno DJs – and a pioneer in the clubbing scene – is finally coming back.
Junior B is returning to Gozo this March for a Carnival party in the island’s capital
That’s right! The name behind some of the biggest clubbing nights of the last two decades is back with a bang, playing on Saturday 2nd March at Victoria’s Dark Arena.
Within a mere couple of hours of the event being posted on Facebook, over 600 people had already showed their interest, with the party clearly leading up to a proper sell-out. Tickets have already started selling at €12 for early birds, with VIP tickets going all the way up to €25.
Back in 2009, Junior B had decided to stop DJing, but he returned in 2012 to a packed night at Rabat’s Tattingers
Ever since his return, the Maltese techno pioneer has been returning to select events once a year. “2019 is not an exception,” he teased back in mid-December.
Over the last couple of weeks, Junior B has taken to Facebook to share a number of memories from the last couple of decades, including a shot from one of his first sets at Popeye Village all the way back in 1995.
Junior B will be playing alongside Manthrax, A-Call and Blackmatte. His set promises to include “a wide selection of the very best techno and electro, old and new”, so this is definitely something fans won’t want to miss.
