Strait Outta Stretta: Valletta's Latest Exhibition Looks As Cool As It Sounds
University of Malta Fine Arts students are back at it again
Fine Arts students from the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Malta have participated in a photography workshop by Duška Malešević... and the result is looking as cool as it sounds.
Under the guidance of their tutor, the students observed and documented Strait Street’s topography, light shifts and social activity — creating Strait Outta Stretta in the process.
Strait Outta Stretta is a series of photographs portraying the interaction of the camera lens with space. The perspective and creative practices implemented were used to highlight the students' understanding of photography.
The project was organised under the artistic direction of Prof. Giuseppe Schembri Bonaci, Head of the Modern and Contemporary Art Research Programme within the Department of Art and Art History, and the works are being exhibited at the iconic Spledid Hotel in Valletta.
The exhibition opened last Thursday on the 25th of October, and is open today from 10:00 till 14:00 and 16:00 till 21:00. Tomorrow the exhibition will be open and the same times, but will end an hour later at 22:00.
The Strada Stretta Concept is a project organised under the auspices of the Valletta 2018 Foundation.
