With the sun on your skin and the taste of sea salt on your lips, Malta’s got your back if a summer festival is what you’re looking for.

With a host of international and locally-organised events being held on the island, here’s a rundown of some of the hottest festivals happening in Malta this summer according to starting date:

Malta International Art Festival | Now – July 14

This festival opened last month and is running through until the 14th of July. The festival provides a dynamic platform for both established and emerging local artists to showcase their work and engage with a broader audience.

For a full programme of the festival’s events, check out the MIAF site here. They’ve also got a special offer that allows you to purchase 6 general admission tickets for only €60.

Isle of MTV | 9 July

The annual Isle of MTV concert is a shining star of Maltese summertime. Organised by the MTV Network International, chart-topping artists head to Malta for an action-packed concert attended by thousands of locals and tourists.

General admission is free, however VIP packages are available that will get you into other Malta Music Week events.

Malta Music Week | 9 – 13 July

Over the week following Isle of MTV, G7 Events in collaboration with the MTA will be hosting a plethora of parties around the island. Head to the Isle of MTV’s site for a full list of events, but expect sunset boat parties, global acts performing live and a slate of specially themed club nights.

Malta Jazz Fest | 15 – 20 July

Presenting a myriad of styles that showcase the contemporary jazz genre without the pop it’s often coupled with, Malta Jazz Fest seeks to break the mold of international jazz festivals and satisfy fans with a cast of purely jazz-focused acts.

The festival programme can be found here along with a link to buy tickets.

Farsons Beer Fest | 25 July – 3 August

The 39th edition of Farsons Beer Fest promises to be one of 2019’s biggest local events. The festival will feature over 50 award-winning beers and over 50 artists on their stages. Look out for Luke Chappel opening the Main Stage on Day 1. Alex Alden, Owen Luellen, Dav.Jr, Ira Losco, Relikc, Red Electrick, The Travellers, 215 Collective and many more local acts are spread evenly over 10 whole days of beer drinking.

Entrance is free, and as usual, you’ll find the Fest in Ta’ Qali National Park.

Unite with Tomorrowland 2019 | 27 July

Popular European festival Tomorrowland will be opening a portal between Malta and Belgium, with both live and live-streamed acts combining and performing at the main festival all the way across the continent. Armin van Buuren will be flying into Malta to perform his set before flying out for his next gig around the world.

Check out their website for tickets.

ROAD TO WORLD CLUB DOME Malta | 3 August

G7 Events and Gianpula Village present a first of its kind in Malta with WORLD CLUB DOME. The event is produced by BigCityBeats who hail from Germany and couldn’t wait to add Malta to their global festival portfolio. Tinie Tempah’s back for the first time since 2016, joined by Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.

Head to their website for tickets.

Summer Karnival | 16 – 18 August

Celebrated between Marsaskala and Buġibba, expect parades of floats akin to those of the spring carnival. Put together with the help of the Arts Council of Malta, you can head to their site for more information.

Summer Daze | 11 – 17 August

2019 sees the return of BBC Radio 1 and Creamfield’s collaboration with the MTA return to Malta. Summer Daze spreads over the 11th to the 17th of August, and this year we’ve got David Guetta, James Arthur and a bunch of local music scene regulars.

The 14th and 15th are free events, though you will need to pre-register for tickets as numbers are limited.

Glitch | 14 – 16 August

Following three very successful years, Glitch is back with a banging line-up of some of the biggest names in the house and techno scene. Carl Cox is set to return to Malta for the first time in 13 years.

Expect secret vault parties, rooftop pool sessions and much more at Gianpula Village this August!

Malta Craft Beer Festival | 30 August – 1 September

Back for a second fantastic round, Malta’s Craft Beer Festival will take place in Fort St Elmo. The festival is organised by Lord Chambray’s Brewery in collaboration with The Craft Beer Company and will host a number of local craft beer brewers, importers and distributors.

Tickets can be found on Evently.

Elrow Malta | 15 September

Global party hosts Elrow are back this year with their incredible cirque-de-music concept. Elrow has toured the world and back, and since adding Malta to their list the party hasn’t stopped. Local DJ Carl Bee will be joined on stage by massive acts like Camelphat and Dubfire, to name but a few. This year’s lineup is already boasting that all in attendance will be taken on a Psychrowdelic Trip.
