The Count Of Villa Bologna: A Cinema Under The Stars Is Coming To Attard This Friday

Malta has acted as the backdrop for a number of films over the decades, from classic blockbusters to beloved cult flicks. Now, one of the most beloved films shot on the island will be returning for a very special event.

In aid of Flimkien Għal Ambjent Ahjar, Villa Bologna is hosting a cinema under the stars event this Friday, screening cult favourite The Count of Monte Cristo.

FAA want to invite you to enjoy the scenes of Malta, shot over 20 years ago, touted as “the kind of picture studios churned out in the Golden Age of cinema”

An adventurous romp, filmed in Malta, based on the classic novel written by Alexandre Dumas is a film that incorporates love, betrayal, Napoleon in exile, imprisonment and revenge… all in a runtime of just over two hours.

There will be a food stall available, providing all your favourite cinema snacks like popcorn, hotdogs and pizza (with veggie options, too) and a bar serving beer, wine and spirits as well non-alcoholic drinks, too.

Seating is provided but, those wishing to attend are encouraged to bring their own blanket or chair to relax on the lawn with.

Arrival before 8pm is advised to allow everyone to enjoy a stroll through the villa’s gardens and give you all time to grab a seat, however priority seating will be given to seniors.
