This Saturday’s Convention Is Straight Out Of Every Maltese Electronic Music Lover’s Dreams
For the second consecutive year, Electronic Music Malta (in collaboration with Fondazzjoni Kreattiva) will be organizing Circuits this Saturday, its annual electronic music convention. And for this year’s edition, they’re upping their game and bringing out some amazing pieces of hardware.
Supported by the US Embassy, the day-long convention will yet again be held at St. James Cavalier, and will featured some of the biggest names in the local scene. While this is technically the 12th event organized by EMM, their convention is always the highlight of the year, and it’s pretty easy to see why when you look at the schedule for the day.
Featuring a series of sessions, talks, workshops, demonstrations, an installation, an exposition and even performances, Circuits will also be hosting legendary producer Mark Verbos, who definitely knows his way around modular synths and amazing electronic music hardware. Local heavyweights Serial Depth, Acidulant, Danjeli, Sonitus Eco and YEWS (among many others) will also be participating.
One of the highlights of the day, however, is a very unique piece of hardware. From 2pm onwards, a giant version of the Roland TB-303, a classic acid house machine, will be open to the public. This project is developed and presented by Ray Interactive Media of Scotland, of which Maltese electronic music veteran Danjeli forms part.
The day will end with three performances at 8pm, namely YEWS, Sonitus Eco and Mark Verbos himself.
