The Best Things To Do This September In Malta

September might mean that summer is (slowly) on the wane, but Malta is still jam-packed with events this month. From concerts, to film festivals, meditation workshops, and matches, here’s a full list of September’s can’t-miss events:

September 7 – Cinemoon film under the stars, Valletta

The second-to-last screening of the year will take place on the steps of Valletta (outside Café Society). As usual, voting will take place on their Facebook page. The week’s theme is “Beating Time”.

September 7-9: Glitch Festival, Gianpula, Rabat

An unmissable EDM festival in the fields of Gianpula on Friday and Saturday – with a boat party cruising along the island Sunday! Check out this line-up…

September 9 – Official Malta Pride Party 2017, Sliema

Celebrate pride week at MedAsia in Sliema from 9pm – 4am. Music, cocktails, and DJ sets, and drag dance acts will keep all entertained!

September 14 – Cinemoon’s Festival Finale, Valletta

Malta’s favourite outdoor festival will have their season-ending screening on the steps of Valletta, overlooking the The Grand Harbour. The week’s theme has been aptly chosen as “Out of Time”. Soak in the experience for one last night (until next year!)

September 16: Spots and Stripes Dance Party, San Pawl il-Baħar

Spots and Stripes are back with their “spotty and stripes dance extravaganza”! DJs Gis for Gustav, Bob, and Jamie DC will be on the decks at Beachaven, blasting indie and retro classics.

September 18-25: The Bubble 2017 – A Festival of Light, Ghajn Tuffieha

The Bubble NGO and Why Not? are once again hosting their beloved, and relatively new arts and music festival at Ghajn Tuffieha. Camp, connect, create, meditate, and appreciate some good vibes, and tunes while overlooking the unbeatable views of Golden Bay.

September 23: Lollipop, Flamingo -Gozo

Malta’s favourite gay clubbing experience is heading to Gozo for a night of the campest bubblegum pop, with some disco and house mixed in! Note: Glitter will be in abundance.

September 29: The Hives @ Aria Complex, San Gwann

The Hives are capping off our busy month with a bang! The Swedish rock band and soundtrack to many people’s noughties, are jamming in San Gwann as NNG promotions put on yet another top notch show in the Aria. With classics like “Hate to Say I Told You So” and “Tick-Tick Boom” this is will no-doubt be a memorable night!

September 30: Nil By Mouth, St Julians

Hairyamp Promotions & Trackage Scheme are teaming up for Nil By Mouth – a night of alternative indie rock and electronic music. Performing will be Weval (Netherlands), Pional (Spain), The Wedding Present (UK), and Happyness (UK) at the Dome (next to Aria Club). Party your way into October!
