Whether You’re Taken Or Single And Ready To Mingle, Malta Has Something For Everyone This Weekend

Valentine’s weekend is just around the corner which means most of you already have plans or are intentionally refusing to make plans out of protest for the lovers’ day.

Whether you’re single, in a relationship or somewhere in between, there’s an event on this list that will leave you lovestruck by the end of the night, whether it be an explosive party or a romantic evening at the cinema.

Friday 14th February

1. A singles party for your lonely Valentine’s Day

Now’s your chance to meet your future lover. Nordic Bar is taking care of all the single lads and lasses with a single party this Valentine’s Day.

2. Dark music with a touch of romance…

It’s the death of lovers at Rumours in Pieta this weekend with The Chemist playing his mix of darkwave tunes for all the night lovers out there.

3. A love party to clear your single blues

Kugene, Lex and David will be putting on a singles set at Truth Malta this Friday night because Valentine’s Day is way overrated and love truly does suck…

4. A unique photo exhibition of Malta’s past

An exhibition held at Malta Postal Museum by Magna Żmien delves into the unseen work of Maltese photographer Guide Stilon.

Stilon’s photography offers a rare and extraordinary insight into Maltese life in the 50s and 60s and will be on display this weekend until March 7th.

5. A night of retro romance cinema

Valletta’s Citylights is hosting a night of movie love with a showing of Wong Kar Wai’s ‘In The Mood For Love’ followed by DJ Jumblis Movement on deck serving up late-night classics for a vinyl-only Valentine’s Disco.

Saturday 15th February

6. A plague to spoil (or make?) your Valentine’s weekend…

The notorious Black Plague is back and it’s bigger and better than ever.

For its eighth edition, the hard-hitting trap night is taking its hip hop bangers to Stardust in Sliema with an intense lineup featuring Supre, I.YOU, Invective FRMR and Barun.

6. Versatile take on Gozo…

Following the success of last year’s event, Versatile Brass Band will once again be performing Għawdex Inħobbok featuring Winter Moods frontman Ivan Grech.

7. A festival of sushi and wine

The first-ever sushi and wine fest is being held at the Limestone Heritage Park in Siġġiewi with plenty of varieties for you to choose from along with some sake, Japanese whiskey and gin.

All this and some free live entertainment all night to compliment the ambiance.

8. A Valentine’s throwback special

There’s always an excuse to have a throwback party… and this time it’s Valentine’s Day!

Nenu’ Events will be celebrating its first event of 2020 with a 90’s and 00’s special at The Club House featuring Maurice, Sandro, Brady and Ryan Spiteri.

Sunday 16th February

10. A heavy metal album launch

Black/Thrash Metal act Psychopath will be releasing their debut album ‘Teratogenesis’ this Sunday at a special launch at none other than Kickstart Rock Bar in Santa Venera.

11. Move at the Maritime Museum

MYNT is back after a long winter hiatus and they’re taking to the seas with their first showcase of 2020 at the Malta Maritime Museum.

As usual, resident DJs will be on deck duty to bring you a fresh selection of house hits to complement the breathtaking views.
