This Gozitan Opera House Is Turning Into A Cinema For The Ultimate Valentine’s Throwback

If you’re looking for something to do this Valentine’s weekend but are running out of original ideas, Gozo might have just what you need. The island’s #in?obbok series of events is offering a wide variety of things to do on the day, as well as some exciting offers.

One of the events will see the island’s popular Opera Theatre, The Aurora, return to its roots and function as a cinema for one night only!

Back when it was first opened, up until the early 90s, the Aurora Opera House was the place to be in Gozo if you wanted to watch a good movie. And now, it’s turning back to its roots and reopening as a cinema for one time only for the first time in over 20 years.

On February the 16th, The Aurora will be screening the ultimate retro classic; Saturday Night Fever.

When the opera house was working as a cinema, it had screened the hugely popular 70s hit so this is the perfect journey back to the past to take with your loved one. And be honest, it would just be a great outing to go on with your friends.

And to top it all off… entrance is absolutely free!

There’s no need to book, but seating is on a first-come-first-served basis so get there on time! Doors open at 6:45pm, and the film starts at 7pm. You can read more about this event here.

This event is supported by the Ministry for Gozo as part of the #in?obbok program of events organised by the Ministry for Gozo and Visit Gozo.
