If you’d like to make the most of this beautiful weather but are not really sure what you feel like, this weekend has got you sorted. Here’s what’s happening around the island over the next couple of days.

Friday 3rd March:

54 hours of entrepreneurs at the Malta Startup Weekend

This weekend will see Smart City hosting a 54-hour event designed to provide a hands-on education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. From pitches and presentations to brainstorming sessions and business development lectures, the Malta Startup Weekend is the perfect environment to test your ideas and take the first steps towards launching your project.

A tattoo marathon with a good cause

Positive Vibrations will be hosting a two day tattoo marathon in aid of ALS Malta, so if you’ve been meaning to get a piece done while donating to a noble cause, head to San Gwann this weekend.

A dose of history and mystery at a Birgu night tour

The Malta University Historical Society is organizing a tour of Birgu on Friday night, promising to discuss everything from interesting historical artefacts to paranormal happenings. Oh, and they have exclusive entry into a haunted house, so… yeah.

A night of heavy music at this double-bill gig

Heavy instrumental duo Krishna (featured photo by Storbju) and four-piece newcomers Kingdoms of Dusk will be taking the stage for their first show of the year at Rumors, a venue that keeps delivering great nights for the alternative scene.

A super cool exhibition in the heart of Valletta

Nikolas Ventourakis, the current resident at Blitz, will be launching Rituals For Our Safety, an exhibition the deals with all the different notions of safety; from personal rituals we create to make ourselves feel safe, to wider reactions of states and societies like the recent Muslim Ban in the USA.

A visual artist who lives and works between Athens and London, Nikolas has come across similarities between Malta and islands like Cyprus and has found the perfect opportunity and place to bring his art to life.

An opportunity to customise your own denim style

This Saturday, New Look at The Point will be offering free customised sew-on badges on denim pieces. Taking style cues from the 90s and adding a sophisticated touch of embroidery detail and customised charm, this is the best opportunity to make the most of the denim revival.

An alternative party with a couple of bands

Alternative party organizers Sick of Ants are back with a bang, and this time, they’re bringing the amazingly fun Massacre House Party with them. The night will also feature a couple of DJs like Trackage Scheme‘s Ben Vincenti and duo newcomers NAANGS supporting the headlining band.

Sunday 5th:

A Sunday afternoon party for International Women’s Day

Legendary promoters BLANK are back with another one of their famous Sunday afternoon parties, this time celebrating International Women’s Day at the newly refurbished Madliena Lodge. This one is definitely going to be sold out, so get ready to prebook. 

Relive the medieval life of Mdina with a free interactive tour

Compagnia San Michele, with the support of the Malta Tourism Authority, is inviting everyone to join for a free interactive tour in Mdina. During this 45 minute tour, visitors can meet different characters representing people who roamed the streets of Mdina during the 15th century.
