Throwbacks Galore! 11 Kick-Ass Events You Need To Attend In Malta This Weekend

After a week of heavy rain and gale-force winds, the weather is finally clearing up and just in time for the weekend. The good weather is bringing with it some great events happening over the next few days, including some killer old-school parties like Class of 95 and Frisco Disco.

There’s something for everybody on this list, so take a look around and get planning because we might be in for another stormy week come Monday!

Friday 15th November

1. World Music, Dub, Ska & Electro swing…

… is what you’ll find at Cloudberry tonight with a line up featuring Belli, Dr. Zicotron, Yabadub, UK-based K.O.G and Mundo Muzika.

Ready Fusion is the combination of sounds and rhythms from world music to electro and kicks off tonight at Sliema’s very own Cloudberry Club in Triq ix Xatt ta Tigne.

2. Fridays are for Faces

Paceville-goers’ favourite Friday night – FACES – is back at Shadow Club featuring resident DJ’s Debris and Mizzi G.

Week 7 is going to be a crowd-pleaser with an array of hip hop tracks, from the classics to brand new tunes.

3. Sensory pleasure at Stretta

Stretta Craft Beer is holding a beer tasting session featuring their very own Brewmaster at the helm.

Curated out of a lifelong passion to taste and create enticing beers, Stretta has become one of Malta’s signature local brews. With the Brewmaster himself guiding you through a line of carefully selected beers, the tasting session held at The Store will be both enjoyable and educational for those who attend.

4. Another Paceville Party

A fresh start for Fridays in Paceville where fun, style and class collide.

‘You can have dignity and style, but royalty is in the blood.’

Taking place at the newly refurbished House of DOM, Royals is hosting its official opening party featuring Mux, Ant and MIZAK on deck.

Planning on dolling yourself up but don’t know where to go? Royals is the place to be.

Saturday 16th November

5. The island’s favourite 90s party is back for a half-decade special

It’s time to celebrate five years of one of Malta’s biggest throwback parties every. Class is in session and this time it’s going to be wild! From the 80s to the 00s, the Y2K anthems and even the hamallu bangers, Class of 95 has quickly evolved into the ‘go-to’ place for attention-craving Millenials…

… and this year’s set up looks sick.

6. Flamenco fusion at SR

An amalgamation of ethnic melodies, jazz fusion and flamenco, the Storeroom is hosting a crossroad of musical and artistic genres to shed light on global identity, irrespective of race or citizenship.

7. Pop, Rock and Soul

Pop, Rock and Soul is the theme for Malta Concert Orchestra’s performance this Saturday.
Pjazza Teatru Rjal’s very own orchestra will be churning out some of the classics tomorrow with singers Neville Refalo, Joe Piscopo, Mike Spiteri and Cheryl Balzan at the helm, joined by the orchestra under the direction of Maestro Joe Brown.

8. Money, money, money

‘Te fit- Tazza’ are revealing three new prints at their next launch centred around the importance of money and its wealth of identity

‘The Maltese Lira’ series explores Maltese identity and aesthetics through the portrayal of three prints of denominations from different periods between 1979 – 2007, each with their own story to tell about the islands.

The Maltese Lira Series drops this Saturday 16th November at our studio in Souvenirs That Don’t Suck, Manwel Dimech Street, Sliema.

9. One night at the disco

Beachaven’s frisco disco is back for all you cool cats out there lookin’ to get groovy Saturday night. Featuring none other than Nicky Slim and Patman joined by Louie G and Slick Steve, FD is the place to be if you want to get down with this disco.

Sunday 17th November

10. Sunday Funday

Another Shadow Club event happening this weekend but this time it’s kicking off on a Sunday afternoon to help you get over the weekend blues.

Featuring Pocci, Nikki VP, Mux and Ant playing your favourite mix of House, RnB and Rock classics,  Shadow Sundays is the party everyone needs but doesn’t deserve.

11. Boozey Bingo

There’s no better way to wrap up the weekend then to sip on some cocktails and play some good ol’ bingo.

For those looking to have a chilled Sunday but at the same time get low-key żibel, Funk Town is hosting their Bingo Boogie at The Undercroft.

Rounds of (un)traditional bingo will be played and when everyone’s boozed-up enough, DJs will be guiding you to the dance floor with a selection of funky disco and house music.
