Watch: ‘If Lebanon, Italy And Malta Had A Baby’ – TikToker Goes Viral With Satirical Video On Small Australian Suburb
A popular content creator’s new series about small Australian suburbs is making big numbers… and one of his most successful editions draws some comparisons with Malta on the other side of the planet.
“If Lebanon, Italy and Malta had a baby, it’d be called Altona,” Australian-Moroccan Tedsthetics, who has nearly a combined total of a million followers on Instagram and TikTok – kicked off his short satirical video.
“This area is divided into three parts, and none of them are like each other,” Teddy continued, delving into the suburb in Melbourne which is home to just over 11,000 people.

After ripping into Altona Beach and Pier Street (where the people there “think they’re better than everyone”) and Altona Meadows (which is home to “one big free-range nursing home”), Teddy takes a look at Altona North… and he does not hold back. “If you asked AI to generate Lebanon with a stable economy and an increasing GDP, you’d get this place,” he jokes.
“Last but not least, the real estate game here is a bit different,” the video continues. “The Arabs wanna knock down and rebuild everything, the Maltese and Italians wanna take their houses to the grave, but the New Zealanders are just happy to be here.”
With Teddy’s videos putting entire communities on blast in a satirical way, his videos have started amassing a lot of views. This 53-second clip alone, in fact, has over 530,000 views on TikTok and nearly one million views on Instagram, with many Maltese and Maltese-Australian viewers alike weighing in after the cheeky island’s mention.
Have you ever been to Altona Beach?
