With a similar culture to ours, beautiful locations, historic monuments and of course (and most importantly) incredible food, there’s something that anyone can enjoy. 1. Venice

Venice is unique, beautiful, incredible… and wet.

A city that should probably not have been one in the first place, Venice defines all logical sense and odds. The city is a wonder of architecture and beauty, and you can take it all in by hopping on a gondola and letting the gondoliers serenade and escort you around.

2. Florence

Capital of Tuscany, and home to many of masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture.

With the immense Duomo towering over the city and the perfectly sculpted statue of David proudly displaying his, erm, physique, Florence is a city overflowing with culture. The food is pretty good too, as is to be expected from a major Italian city.

3. Torino

A beautiful city with a lot of incredible things to offer. But let’s be honest, that’s not the reason Maltese person go there so frequently.

Home of Seria A champions Juventus, Torino attracts flocks of passionate Maltese Juventini to the club’s newly built stadium, just to blast out a quick “Juve, storia di un grande amore” and a live “fino al fine” chant.

4. Rome

The home of cheap Ryan Air flights.

Let’s be honest we love a bargain, and €15.99 flights up and down to Rome is the Ceaser of bargains.

Capital city of Italy, Rome certainly acts the part. Fantastic shopping, incredible food, super city vibes, and of course enough historical culture to last you a lifetime. Take a month off your life and go enjoy everything Rome has to offer; you’ll be a better person for it.

5. Milan

One of the northernmost cities in Italy, and one of the global capitals of fashion and design.

Known the world over for its fashion, high end shopping and restaurants, Mian is also conveniently home to two of Seria As best teams, A.C Milan and Inter.

6. Anywhere in Sicily

Literally anywhere

Maybe it’s the fact that it’s the closest island to us or that it’s super cheap, but if there’s one thing we know, it’s that Maltese people regularly swarm to Sicily.

You’re almost guaranteed to visit the island at least once in your lifetime, and you should consider yourself lucky. Etna, Palermo, Syracuse, Catania and everywhere else are all destinations you need to visit.
