Malta International Airport has been recognised for having some of the best service amongst airports of comparable size within the European region.

MIA’s inclusion on the Airports Council International list shows the airport has delivered consistently smooth experiences to departing passengers.

For the fifth consecutive year, MIA has been named on this prestigious list.

In a post to social media, Malta International Airport CEO Alan Borg commended the airport for achieving a “satisfaction score of 4.41”.

He added that though the Luqa airport has faced significant challenges in recent years of pandemic turmoil, it will continue to take on “major infrastructural projects while passenger numbers continue their upward trend” with the goal of giving those passengers “the best airport experience in Europe”.

Amongst European airports catering to between five and 15 million passengers per year, MIA had departing passengers ranking amongst the 20% highest in terms of customer satisfaction.

And all this comes despite bumps in the path such as the La Valette Lounge ceiling collapse during Storm Helios,

This size and region adjusted classification places Luqa’s international hub alongside Iceland’s Keflavik International Airport, Thessaloniki Airport and Milan Bergamo Airport.

MIA expressed its thanks to the passengers making this achievement possible, as well as its employees.

“The entire Malta International Airport team prides itself on delivering services of the highest quality to its guests, thank you for all your votes of confidence in our airport!”
