2024 was officially a record year for Malta’s tourism industry, with a whopping 19.5% increase being registered.

Malta’s newly appointed Tourism Minister Ian Borg announced this following today’s Malta National Tourism Conference from Valletta’s Mediterranean Conference Centre.

Every tourist in Malta spent an average of €924 on the islands, and with last year’s number hitting a record 3.5 million (a significant increase from 2023’s previous record of 3 million), that adds up to an eye-watering €3.3 billion in one year.

“We will continue working for higher quality tourism which is more sustainable,” Borg finished his celebratory post this afternoon.
