September marked the third consecutive month that Malta International Airport welcomed more than 800,000 passengers.

Traffic for September totalled to 812,176, reflecting an increase of 6.5% compared to 2019 figures.

The strong travel demand resulted in a monthly seat load factor of 89.2%. This growth stems from a 3% increase in seat capacity compared to 2019.

The top five markets were Italy, followed by the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Spain, accounting for 66% of the total traffic in September.

While Italy (+48.7%) and France (+46.4%) saw significant growth over 2019 figures, the United Kingdom (-19.1%) and Germany (-23.8%) performed worse than in 2019. Spain experienced a marginal decline of 0.1%.

Malta International Airport also published its winter flight schedule, running from 23rd November to 24th March, offering direct flights to 30 different destinations.
