Malta’s Getting A Whole Batch Of New Night Bus Routes And Here’s Everything You Need To Know
Travelling by bus around the island well past sunset is about to get a bit easier thanks to a slew of new night routes that have been added to Malta Public Transport’s roster.
This February, MPT updated its services, adding four new routes to serve the southern and central regions, along with updating the existing ones.
Here’s the complete rundown of what’s what.
The new routes:
1. St. Julian’s to Mosta via San ?wann and Naxxar
The N40 will operate every 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights.
2. St. Julian’s to Rabat via Birkirkara, Balzan and Attard
The N50 will operate every 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights.
3. St. Julian’s to Mqabba via Luqa, Airport, ?urrieq and Qrendi
The N71 will operate every 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights.
4. St. Julian’s to ?ebbu? via ?amrun, Qormi and Si??iewi
The N209 will operate every 30 minutes on Friday and Saturday nights.
The reviewed routes:
1. Increased frequency for St. Julian’s to ?irkewwa
The N11’s Friday and Saturday night service will increase in frequency to 30 minutes.
2. The Valletta to St. Julian’s route will continue to operate nightly

3. The St. Julian’s to Marsascala route will also continue to operate nightly
This change will come into effect on Friday and Saturday nights for the N91 and will operate as a circular service.
4. Sliema to Bu?ibba will get an extended nightly service
The N212 is a new nightly service operating between the two hubs every 30 minutes.
