After being spotted all over the Maltese Islands by excited car enthusiasts, an instantly recognisable McLaren P1 has arrived at its final stop of a prestigious European Road Trip… and it was an emotional one for its Gozitan-Australian millionaire owner.

“One of the best experiences of my life,” Adrian Portelli wrote on Instagram last night, sharing a photo with his hypercar in front of a house on the sister island. “I am an incredibly nostalgic person so for me it’s more about creating memories to build a connection with my cars which is why I chose to take the P1 around Europe with me.”

And while the McLaren visited all the fanciest places in Europe, from Germany to London, Saint Tropez to Monte Carlo, and even stopped at beautiful Italian places such as the Monza F1 circuit, Rome and the Amalfi Coast, it was inevitably Gozo which deserved the final stop.

“The final stop – Gozo where in this photo I went to the home where my mum was raised,” Portelli wrote.
