The Malta-Gozo travelling commute has seen an increase compared to last year’s quarter.

A staggering total of 1,121,001 people have travelled between Malta and Gozo during the first quarter of this year. Big numbers, bro.

That means that there was a 7.8% increase in passengers this year, with the highest record being hit in March, which makes up 40.2% of the total for the whole quarter.

The number of vehicles travelling (with a driver, not on their own) has increased by 5.9%. That sounds like quite a small number, but it isn’t — 339,266 vehicles is what it really means.

5.259 trips were made to and from this quarter. That means that there was an increase of 0.8%, so many numbers our heads hurt.

From January to March, the ferry from Ċirkewwa was at its busiest on Fridays and Saturdays, whilst Mġarr was busiest on Saturdays and Sundays. Here’s some charts you might enjoy looking at. Maybe.

Tag someone who definitely contributed to this increase!
