Valletta’s Fort Saint Elmo To Transform Into Adorable Artisan Market This Weekend
If you’re the type of person that like rummaging through sprawling markets whenever you go abroad then we’ve got news for you. Malta’s largest artisan market is coming to town again and this time it’s being held at Fort St Elmo in Valletta.
Organised by Malta Artisan Markets and supported by Heritage Malta, the two-day event is set to be a great day for anyone looking to check out the talents of some of Malta’s hottest local artists, foodies, makers, designers and crafters.
We need as many as these events as possible to polish that Capital of Culture crown, and there’s no better place for a culture-rich weekend than our breathtaking and beloved Valletta, overlooking the Grand Harbour.
Elmo Weekender’s incredible historical location is the perfect backdrop for all the colourful stalls, and a vibrant market is an excellent opportunity for some fresh life to be injected into it. A lineup of awesome pop-ups and offerings that includes slack lining and street food should do the trick.
Market goers will be treated to the feel-good sounds of vinyl Motown records and you can indulge yourself to a glass of fizz and a platter to-go from Champagne Hipster– the caravan Prosecco bar on site.
The people behind the awesome Te fit-Tazza will be there peddling their quirky prints, Burlesque Candles will be popping up with their saucy scents, and there’ll be more ethical handmade jewelry than you can ever dream of – so be prepared to fall in love with a lot of bohemian rings.
The Beer Hop are bringing the craft beer-making kits and Coffee Circus will be supplying the quality brew, and as well as being hipster friendly, the market is also dog friendly too.
There’s no entry fee for this event, happening this Mother’s Day weekend on the 13th and 14th of May, so that’s more money in your pocket for treating your mum to that little something that’s caught her eye; and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t pick up a little cheeky something for yourself while you’re at it! Go on, it’s your weekend too.
