Comino’s hotel concession is back in the news with HV Hospitality unveiling plans to build a new establishment that it says will be eco-friendly and promote wellness tourism.

Lovin Malta recently visited the site to get a better sense of what exactly is being proposed on the piece of land stretching from the original Comino hotel to the bungalows near Santa Marija Bay.

Although its development is tied to a decades-old government concession to promote tourism, the project has proven to be extremely controversial, with many people adamant that Comino should remain as untouched as possible.

Walking around Comino, HV Hospitality’s hospitality consultant Andre Scerri answers questions about the project itself, the private beach it incorporates, and the wider social implications of the development itself.
