Whether it’s heavy bangers or tunes to just chill out to, hip hop has been enjoying somewhat of a renaissance both abroad and in Malta. This time, it’s time to relish in the latter.

One third of the extremely promising local hip hop group 215 Collective, young Maltese rapper Caro is all geared up to share his latest EP live for the very first time tonight. But with Disconnected’s debut less than 12 hours away, there’s one particular track – and music video – that will definitely help get you in the mood.

Released earlier last week, Can’t Change A Thing is a perfect teaser of what you can expect from Caro’s latest project; laid back beats, deep lyrics and a vibe that’s perfect for a midweek session. And with a music video that’s heavily inspired by retro 90s home videos, the whole feels like one long nostalgic trip.

An eight-track EP that follows fellow 215 members Eddie Fresco’s A Soul For Mine and more recently Yannick’s KAM, Caro’s offering sounds like the perect pairing of the young Maltese-English rapper’s vibe and Malta’s all-round relaxed way of life.

“I finally get to share something with you all which is by far my best piece of work to date,” Caro told fans and friends on Facebook of his project.

“Completing the EP in general helped me find closure within myself as I journey through life, which is a feeling I hope can transfer to those who list”

Disconnected’s live debut will be happening tonight at Pieta’s Rumors, and it’s all kicking off at around 8pm.

In the meantime, if you want to get even more in the vibe, check out Disconnected on Spotify right now.

Tag someone who’d love to check out this project and get a midweek break tonight!
