The ‘Min Imissu’ Trio Prank Call Mark Ta’ Xarabank And Pawla Ta’ Liquorish Live On Air
The ninth episode of Lovin Live last night saw the cast of Min Imissu take to the now-notorious sofa next to Chucky, and it was hilarious as you’d expect.
In between the celebrity impersonations and a couple of hilarious rounds of prank calls, 30 minutes positively flew by. Here’s a rundown of last night’s episode.
1. A mutual exchange of shade
Seeing as our guests had just made a parody video about us a couple of days before, there was of course some harmless banter to be made.
Chucky kicked off the show by remarking how far Mario, Analise and Julian had gone from not even being on our radar to making it to our live show… and they quickly returned the favour by telling us they thought Lovin Live was a radio show (up to a couple of minutes before the show!).
Oh, and let’s not forget the moment Chucky complimented all the characters… from Bla Kondixin.
2. “It’s the first time I’m seeing a presenter on his knees… “
Mario might’ve been initially surprised by Chucky’s informality on set, but that’s how we do it here at Lovin Live.
Chucky did also preempt the episode by telling them swearing is definitely more accepted than national TV, and it’s something the Min Imissu peeps quickly took to heart.
3. A mixed bag of guesses
One of our segments involves asking guests what previous Lovin Malta articles were about solely judging by the featured photos.
This week saw a mixed bag of guesses, from hilariously correct to satirically not-so-accurate.
4. Impressive impersonations
Seeing as they are actors above everything else, Chucky had the Min Imissu trio impersonate some popular Maltese names. And what a job they did at that!
Mario’s Tony Zarb felt like the former GWU head was right there in the room. Analise’s Michelle Muscat was accurate AF, and Julian’s Chucky was… something else entirely.
5. Prank calling Maltese personalities
The premise of this segment was simple; random phone numbers and situations were chosen by our guests. That way, they’ll know exactly what they need to say… but have no idea who they’re saying it to.
We got a couple of non-answers that included Ian from Gadgets, Simon Busuttil, Norman Lowell, and Franco Debono. We did get two people who answered though, and it was well worth the wait.
First up was Mark ta’ Xarabank, who had a Julian (in character) getting angry at him for letting his cat shit in his yard. Mark’s, “M’għandix qattus!” definitely made this, and even though the Xarabank co-host said he was watching the first part of Lovin Live, it really would’ve paid him to continue watching.
Next up was Pawla ta’ Liquorish, who got Analise, or rather, a Melita Customer Care representative. Pawla might’ve tried to evade questions from the dreaded questionnaire-styled call, but she was a sport about it all and even joined the live stream to comment seconds later.
6. La la la lalla
Before leaving, the Min Imissu trio had a teaser from their show for us.
Performing one of their hilarious songs (and dance routines), they went through all of the main headlines from the very eventful 2017, and this was where Analise’s musical talents, Mario’s geniality and Julian’s improv really shone through.
They even taught Chucky their moves while they were at it.
7. Chucky 2.0 returns one last time!
Chucky’s closing words are always dedicated to our fabulous sponsors, but this time, Julian (still in Chucky mode) took over, pulling off an immaculate impersonation which to be honest looked like it was the fruit of many a long hour of studying.
Thanks for coming on guys, you were awesome!
Min Imissu kicks off on the 24th of November at the Sir Temi Zammit Hall and will run for three days, so if you enjoyed seeing Julian, Analise and Mario on Lovin Live and are hungry for more, hurry up and get your tickets here before they sell out.
If you’ve got 30 free minutes, here’s the episode in all its glory.
In the meantime, stay tuned for next week’s episode!
