WATCH: Large Clouds Of Construction Waste Blown Directly Into Maltese Waters During Roadworks

Billowing clouds of dust flew towards the sea yesterday as construction works take place on a windy day in Malta.

In the video one vehicle can be seen digging up the road and attempting to pump the rubble directly into a nearby truck, but the heavy winds blow most of the lighter particles and bits of rock away.

The video was uploaded yesterday, which was one of Malta’s windier days in the past weeks. The footage also shows vehicles driving close by the works on either side of the road.

Captioned “only in Malta” Rose Cassano’s clip has quickly spread across the island, with many complaining about the lack of regulations (or enforcement of existing ones) on issues like this.

“Imagine living close to that!” one comment read.

“Money always comes first.”

But some others defended what was seen in the clip, asking why people have to “always find something to complain about” when the truck driver and the other construction workers were “simply doing their job”.

One comment saw the lighter side to thing, tagging a friend and letting them know that the beach will finally have a lot more sand.
