Neon pinks, a not-so-subtle reference to an ex lover and a whole lotta steam. Ladies and gentlemen, Gaia has landed.
She might still be 16 years old, but that isn’t stopping Gaia from taking over Malta’s pop scene with her latest release, Why Should I – accompanied now by one rave of a video, featuring a Gaia suspended in mid-air as she questions why she ought to care about an ex-lover who’s clearly moved on, but still lingers in the background.
For those of you unfamiliar with the context of the video, Gaia was a contestant on X Factor UK last year where she ended up cosying on up to fellow competitor Jon Guelas.
And not to be those guys, but the love interest in this new video – which was beautifully brought to life thanks to creative director Steven Levi Vella – looks exactly like Jon Guelas. So, yeah.

In 2018, Gaia auditioned for X Factor UK with her rendition of Paloma Faith’s Only Love Can Hurt Like This which left a great impression on the judging panel.
Throughout the past 12 years, Gaia has kept herself extremely busy, making a name for herself on the music scene both locally and beyond our shores, with the latter taking precedence at times.
Gaia is currently writing and producing her own new material, which is due to be released in the coming months.
She starts her solo journey with Why Should I, a dance-inspired pop tune, pumping with club-leaning energy. This is only the beginning of a new chapter in Gaia’s already very rich story.
