Watch: Gozo Ferry Traffic Backed Up Until Marfa Ahead Of Long Weekend Following Bad Weather Diversions
If you’re planning on driving up to Gozo later today, you might find a spot of traffic, with videos sent to Lovin Malta showing a long line of cars backed up all the way to Marfa roundabout and beyond.
With much of the traffic moving extremely slowly, people stuck in the jam told Lovin Malta that people were even disembarking from buses near Mellieħa’s Torri l-Aħmar and walking all the way down to Ċirkewwa.
@lovinmaltaofficial If you’re planning on driving up to Gozo later today, you might find a spot of traffic, with videos sent to Lovin Malta showing a long line of cars backed up all the way to Marfa roundabout and beyond 👀 With much of the traffic moving extremely slowly, people stuck in the jam told Lovin Malta that people were even disembarking from buses near Mellieħa’s Torri l-Aħmar and walking all the way down to Ċirkewwa 😬 Today’s traffic is down to a number of things. Earlier this morning, the Gozo Channel Operations Limited announced that, “due to bad weather conditions”, operations had been diverted to Ċirkewwa’s South Quay, leading to prolonged waiting times 😳 By around 2pm, the ferry service had resumed to operating as per its normal routes… but with an increased volume of people presumably making their way to the sister island as early as possible ahead of the long weekend – and Gozo’s own EuroPride celebrations this Saturday – it was already too late for many caught in the traffic 🧐 Are you going up to Gozo this weekend?
