A video has emerged of a litter of puppies left abandoned within a cardboard box on the side of the street. Animal-rights activist Moira Delia shared the footage, which showed the puppies crying through the crudely punctured holes at the top of box.

“Humans and their actions… speechless!” Moira said, sharing the video on Facebook. The short clip quickly started making the rounds, with dozens of comments condemning the act.

“The ignorance of some people is seriously beyond comprehension,” Ira Losco said. “Couldn’t this idiot have gone quickly get a cage from a pet shop, put them in it, and went to the sanctuary? I can’t, it makes me too angry.”

Picked up by Animal Welfare and now available for adoption, the adorable puppies featured in a post by fellow animal-rights activist Alison Bezzina

“Dear animal lovers, please help me turn this sad story of human cruelty into one of love and hope,” Bezzina urged readers on Facebook.

“These five male pups (kaċċa mix) were dumped in a box and found by a kind soul last night. Animal Welfare picked them up, they are currently being checked at APH, and will then be fostered by another kind soul.”

“We need to get them homed ASAP as otherwise they will be destined to a life behind bars, a life without play, a life without snuggles, and a life that quite frankly is not worth living,” Bezzina continued. “Please contact Max Ine if you’re interested in adopting. Kindly share this post as well, and if you are interested in promoting these pups through paid ads, please inbox me. Every little helps. Thank you.”
