WATCH: Maltese Countertenor Hits All The Right (And Very High) Notes As He Secures His Seat In Next Stage Of X Factor

Karl Schembri has been wowing the Maltese audience at home since he first stepped onto the X and left the judges’ jaws agape with his high range and vibrato. And last night, his Chair Challenge performance of Canto Della Terra hit all the right notes in Ray’s eyes (and everyone else’s).

So high were his notes, that they blew Nedved Galea out of his seat, leaving the spot open for Schembri to swoop in.

Ray proclaimed that Schembri had “brought magic into the MFCC”, before making his final decision and swapping him with singer Nedved Galea who had taken to stage earlier in the night with a rendition of Charlie Puth’s Attention that Howard saw potential in.

Howard didn’t think Nedved had what it took to make it through the live shows, and because he had no idea what was to come with the remaining acts, Ray chose to seat the young model from Birżebbuġa while he deliberated over the remaining contestants. He did however warn Nedved that if something better was to come along, he would be at risk, and it seems like Karl was the threatening talent that spelled Nedved’s doom.

Did you agree with Ray’s choices last night?
