WATCH: Maltese Harpist In London Has Us Dreaming Of A White Christmas
It might’ve gotten colder in Malta over the last couple of weeks, but just like countless years before, this Christmas on the islands will almost certainly be snowless. A Maltese harpist living in London, however, has already been way luckier, and waking up to a blanket of snow, she decided to spread the Christmassy joy on YouTube.
Like most Maltese people, Michelle Paris is not used to bouts of snowfall. “I have only ever seen snow three times, so this was rather special to me,” she admitted. Over the weekend, London was one of the places to be hit with heavy snow, and Paris took this opportunity to take her harp out and play it in the snow.
“We need more good cheer and good news in the world,” Michelle told Lovin Malta. “I don’t usually make videos like this, but I have heard of so many sad stories from people this season that I thought this would make them smile.”
This year marks the first Christmas and New Year’s Eve that Michelle won’t be coming to Malta to be with her family in 33 years, so this video is as much a tribute to them as it is to everyone else. “I’m feeling a little home sick and I’m missing my family and Malta this year,” Michelle said.
Michelle’s heartwarming rendition of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas is just over a minute long, but what with the Hallmark background and the softly falling snow as the harp serenades away, this really had us wishing Malta would get a White Christmas sometime in the future.
