WATCH: MTV’s Craziest Show Pitting Real Couples Against Fake Ones Was Filmed In Malta This Summer… But Where?
When MTV brought us Love Island, we thought we’d seen it all. Turns out, there’s a lot more to see, according to True Love Or True Lies – a series that pits fake couples against real couples over the course of 8 episodes to win a sum of money. And, guess where they filmed their second season?
Right here, in sunny Malta.
While that backdrop behind new host Dani Dy(er) is obviously fake, the villa itself is, obviously, Maltese (or Gozitan).
Just take a look at the backdrop they’ve used.
Dani’s face says it all about how we feel. Malta as a summer backdrop does superbly well when live in action. This? This is just a print of northern Gozo that hides their actual location because NDA contracts in this day and age are useless.
But this set is legit Malta (or Gozo), complete with luxury ball and all.
Dani’s face, again, telling all about how we feel about not knowing where this place is because we want to make use of the last of this year’s sun and the book the fuck out of it.
The show is set to return to MTV’s airwaves very soon, with Dani Dy(er) joining as the host and her father (the real-deal) Danny Dyer will be providing the voiceover.
