WATCH: New Netflix Horror Film Dubbed ‘Scariest Ever’ Will Seriously Creep You Out
If you’re planning on staying in this weekend, you might want something good to watch. And if you’re into horror, a film that’s being called ‘the scariest ever’ has just been released on Netflix. You’re welcome / we’re sorry.
Veronica is a Spanish horror film which hit the streaming service earlier this week, but it’s already become the talk of the town. Netflix fans and critics alike have already jumped on the hype wagon, and with less than a week since its release, the film has gained a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score by critics.
Directed by Paco Plaza (famous for the found-footage creepfest that was the REC saga), Veronica film tells the story of a young girl who has to raise her younger siblings in absence of her mother.
Young Veronica and her friends end up using a Ouija board during a solar eclipse to try and summon the spirit of a dead friend, and that’s when shit hits every possible fan. They accidentally disturb the spirit of a dead father… along with a blind nun (eesh, no thanks).
What’s worse (or better, if you’re a horror fan) is that the film is supposedly based on a true story taken from Madrid’s police files in the early 1990s. The events took place in 1992 when a young girl in south Madrid was briefly hospitalised and died after dabbling with a ouija board. In fact, it’s said to be the only time the word ‘unexplained’ marked a police file.
Veronica premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year and got rave reviews, but it’s only just landed onto Netflix.
People all around the world have already been tweeting out like crazy about the new horror film, from people praising how effectively creepy it all it is, to how they literally had to stop mid-watch.
Well Veronica on Netflix is fucking terrifying :)

Started watching Veronica on Netflix (huge REC fan so interested in anything Paco Plaza is involved in) but the demon walking down the hallway scene freaked me out so much I had to turn it off… #SuchAWuss pic.twitter.com/4oCcjQUJST
