WATCH: President George Fanboys Out When Meeting The Queen And It’s The Cutest Thing Ever
Some of us can only dream about meeting our idols, but for President George Vella that dream turned into reality yesterday.
Our president was lucky enough to have a private audience with Queen Elizabeth II in Buckingham Palace…
And he had a total fanboy moment.

Though it wasn’t the first time the two heads of state met, it is the first time they got together for a private audience and you can tell it meant the world to President Vella.
“Thank you very much for this opportunity,” the President said as they met.
“This is something I’ve always dreamt about and at last it happened.”
President Vella enjoyed some one-on-one time with the Queen before his wife, Miriam Vella, swoops in to crash the party.
Queen Elizabeth appears particularly chuffed to meet the President probably because the distinct Maltese accent harkened her back to a time when she lived in Malta while Prince Phillip was serving as a Royal Navy officer from 1949 to 1951.
The last time the Queen visited Malta in 2015 to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting but we hope that President Vella’s charm has convinced her to come back sometime soon.
