A few days ago, the Malta Aviation Society announced that the 2020 airshow would be cancelled after there was an issue with the amount of parking space made available at the airport for the event.

This marks the third airshow that was cancelled in a row and, as you can imagine, aviation fans were devastated by the news.

But in an effort to pay tribute to the once great and exciting show, Neville Mangion, founder of Aviation Malta, has uploaded a video montage of some of the iconic aircraft that featured in the show over the past couple of decades. 

In true Top Gun fashion, the footage features some old school rock ‘n roll music and the roaring sound of loud engines as the jets whizz past.

The clip’s main highlights are the iconic aircraft that flew the Maltese skies, including the F-4 Phantom, B-1 Lancer, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and many more

The Malta International Airshow may be cancelled, but at least you can reminisce on the awesome events with these super retro images and video!
