WATCH: Saudi Prince’s €400,000,000 ‘Mega-Yacht’ Chilling In Senglea Is One Of The Largest In The World
Blink a couple of times and you still won’t be able to miss this one. If you were anywhere around the Grand Harbour recently and happened to spot a massive yacht, you’ll be pleased to know you’ve just laid your eyes on one of the largest super-yachts on the planet.
Measuring an impressive 123.2 metres (that’s 404.2 feet!), the Golden Odyssey is a “mega-yacht” that’s currently berthed in Senglea, and it’s a sight and a half to behold.
Launched in March 2015 by record-holding super-yacht builders Lürssen, the custom-built behemoth is owned by Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdul Azziz, Saudi Arabia’s former deputy minister of defense and a member of the House of Saud.
The largest in Prince Khaled’s “Golden Fleet”, the Odyssey is said to have a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system and a slew of luxurious features, including a swimming pool, spa, beach club, gym, elevator… and of course, a helipad. In fact, it’s regularly mentioned in Top 20 lists of the largest yachts in the whole world.
And the price tag for all of this? Oh, just a casual €400 million.
With a beam of 20 metres and a gross tonnage of 7,600 tons, the Golden Odyssey is an insane feat of engineering, and it’s chilling right here in Malta!
Flying the Bermuda flag and currently moored in Senglea, the massive yacht arrived earlier this year from Montenegro.
