WATCH: Why Did Carina Call Chucky ‘Irritating’ And Does She Still Dislike Him?
The team behind Lovin Live can finally breathe a sigh of relief after last night’s Benjamin episode cleared the air over the potential spat between Malta’s momager Carina and our very own Chucky Bartolo.
Earlier this month, Carina went viral for speaking her mind about a young Maltese model. She’s not known for holding back, so when we saw this week’s teaser clip lead with Carina calling Chucky “irritating” we were all a little (a lot) on edge. And just in case you didn’t watch the whole clip, it was plainly spelled out in the video caption too.
But in a reality TV first, it seems the tension was created entirely by the producers, and there’s no beef between Carina and Chucky.
The whole thing got off to a bumpy start when Carina showed up to our set for a Lovin Live episode. As Chucky smiled and showed her where to seat, Carina turns to answer with a deadpan, “I don’t want to sit there.”
“Before I went, he was someone who comes across as very irritating,” Carina explained in the episode. “So before I showed up, I was feeling a little, you know…” She trails off, leaving very little to the imagination with the look on her face.
“At first, I thought she’d unhinge her jaw like a snake and swallow me whole,” Chucky admitted.
Thankfully, it didn’t take long for the tides to turn.
“My opinion changed completely,” Carina said seconds later. “And that doesn’t happen very often. When you speak to him one-on-one, he’s just a really sweet guy.”
Chucky even got a couple of more compliments thrown his way, with Carina calling him funny, witty… and of course flamboyant.
And while she did throw some more of her signature shade when Lovin Live started a couple of minutes later and she said she’d much rather be at home “instead of wasting my time here,” she did say she really enjoyed our show and how relaxed and fun it all was.
She even got an opportunity to show off her love for Madonna, who she said has been her idol ever since she was young.
Thanks Carina for dropping by to the Lovin Malta studios for our live show! In the meantime, if you can’t get enough of the Queen of Shade, tune in to Benjamin every Wednesday night!
