WATCH: Carina Judges People’s Outfits And Andrew Randon Does A Perfect Obama Live On Air
Lovin Live was back for a fifth episode last night, and this week saw popular mumager Carina Camilleri and young photographer Andrew Randon grace the LL sofa with our very own Chucky.
Here’s what went down during last night’s episode.
1. Addressing the national Benna controversy
How could we kick off this week’s episode without mentioning the days-long, intense backlash which Benna inadvertently created by rebranding their popular milk cartons?
We’ve seen everything from national protests to poignant video explainers be issued, and now, it was Chucky’s turn to hit us up with some wisdom… and a “What the fuck?” or two.
“Malta still has a long way to go when it comes to the plastic problem… but if we really want to be the world pioneers in the war against plastic, let’s stop hating each other, or deluding ourselves into thinking that plastic magically creates wheelchairs”.
2. “There’s no such thing as too much wine”
A running theme in Lovin Live’s episodes, and a definite life story to keep in mind.
And hey; our guests quickly learnt that lesson.
3. “So it’s not the shape that attracted you to it… “
Carina didn’t really wait to start throwing her signature shade around, with her actual first words having Chucky in stitches.
Andrew Randon kicked the episode off by explaining that him having a hand-held mic in his hands was actually not a technical difficulty, but a personal preference. “Oh, so it’s not the shape that attracted you to it… ” Carina muttered, leaving Rando himself in stitches.
4. “Say hi to your mothers on TV”
Of course, in true reality TV fashion, cameras for Benjamin were filming our show, going full filmception for a future episode of Malta’s newest TV obsession.
5. Two red cards for Randon
When asked by Carina whether he watches Benjamin, Randon’s answer was simple, “Your show? I haven’t yet.” That was apparently the first red card.
The second one was him saying, “I’ll watch it tonight,” when Benjamin actually airs on Wednesdays.
“Third red card, and you’re out,” Carina joked.
6. “I think I have a better idea Ba Rak”
Chucky excels at putting people on the spot, especially if they’ve got a hidden talent. When it comes to Randon, he puts up a mean Barack Obama impersonation.
For a second, it was as if the former President of the United States of America was sitting on the Lovin Live sofa giving us his two cents on the Benna plastic cap issue. Carina got into it so much, in fact, that she actually addressed Randon as Obama… hilariously mispronouncing his name as Ba Rak in the process.
7. “When you’ve got big boobs and a big tummy, you stay at home ay”
Before becoming Malta’s very own Kris Jenner, Carina was famous for her brutally honest opinions on fashion choices around the island.
To see if she’s still got it, Chucky presented Mama Camille with a couple of styles… including a rather infamous one featuring Daphne Caruana Galizia.
The result? Pure, brutal hilarity.
The segment also featured Nickie Vella De Fremeaux’s fur number on Xarabank, a young Ben Camille’s open hoodie photoshoot, Michelle Muscat’s outfit with the Obamas, Carina herself from a long time ago, Randon in a suit, Chucky in a suit, Elaine Saliba’s 2012 Eurovision hostess dress (pink Vileda gloves anyone?) and that outfit President Marie Louise-Coleiro Preca wore in 2015 for CHOGM.
8. Chucky, Carina and Andrew lip-sync for their lives
Carina had Madonna’s Like A Virgin (which Randon gladly joined in for).
Chucky had Nicki Minaj’s verse from Swalla.
And Andrew? Well, he only went and absolutely destroyed the competition with a perfect rendition of Friyie’s Money Money Money TEAM, the official entrance theme song of Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather.
9. Shoutout to… everyone
As the episode came to a close, Andrew took the opportunity to make a couple of shoutouts… and everyone got a piece of the pie.
From his closest friends, to his family, to his girlfriend, to Carina (who he had literally just met for the first time half an hour before), Randon wanted to thank everyone. And he did. Thanks Andrew, shoutout to you!
10. Carina used the last couple of minutes to get real about dog adoption
The #DogBlog drama is real.
Carina’s last minutes on the show, apart from of course mentioning Benjamin (which will be airing its second episode tomorrow evening, by the way), were spent reminding people that dogs are a commitment for life, urging people to opt for adoption instead since there are so many poor dogs out there needing a roof under their head and a loving family.
11. … and that’s a wrap!
Thanks everyone for tuning in, and until next time!
We’d like to thank our sponsors throughout the show, Satariano Home for the stunning furniture, Laferla for insuring Chucky in case anything goes wrong, P. Cutajar for the wine, Ultimate for the JBL, Muscats Motors for graciously providing Chucky’s ride, and Kaxxa Packaging.
If you’ve got 30 free minutes, here’s this week’s episode of Lovin Live in all its glory. In the meantime, stay tuned for Episode Five, coming next week!
