Love doesn’t always come wrapped in a fairy tale ending—but does that mean happiness is out of reach?

The SHE Word dives into the world of love the second time around in its latest episode, exploring what relationships look like after divorce, separation, or annulment.

Host Trudy Kerr is joined by TV presenter and author Sarah Bajada, The SHE Word regular Sue Caruana and Miss World veteran and teacher Stephanie Zammit, who all open up about their personal journeys. The episode is packed with real talk, hard-earned lessons and uplifting stories that prove love after heartbreak is not only possible—it’s often even better.

One of the most powerful moments comes when Sarah Bajada shares her biggest regret—not losing a relationship, but losing herself in one.

“The only regret I have is actually losing myself in order to stay in a relationship,” she admits, a statement met with nods of agreement from the other women.

Sarah explains how she dimmed her own light to avoid conflict, staying quiet to keep the peace. But that version of herself no longer exists.

“I am me more than ever,” she continues. “I know this sounds bad but if you don’t like me how i am maybe I am not for you.”

Trudy jumps in to reassure her that knowing your worth is never a bad thing, but Sarah reveals that she’s often been called “arrogant” for refusing to settle.

“It’s not arrogance, it’s knowing who I am, knowing my worth, knowing what I bring to the table. If you’re not going to meet me halfway with the things I require—whether that’s time, accountability, or support—then I’m very sorry, me and you cannot work.”

The discussion takes an even deeper turn when Sarah shares a lesson she learned after meeting people who weren’t willing to accept her son as part of the package.

“I met great people, but they turned out to be people who couldn’t give me what I wanted. They wanted time with me alone, but didn’t want to include my son. Then I’m very sorry, you’re not my cup of tea.”

The episode is filled with moments of reflection and empowerment, making it a must-watch for anyone navigating love after a breakup.

Whether you’re freshly out of a relationship or years into rebuilding, The SHE Word reminds us all—you don’t have to settle for less than what you deserve.
