WATCH: Malta’s 16 Piece Brass Band Debut With Catchy New Song And People Are Loving It

Local 16 piece brass band, Brass House Unit have released their first single ever and people can’t get enough of it. The song, Limelight brings on a fresh beat to the island’s music scene.
“Brass House Unit was my brain child since October 2014, I always had a dream to have my own band but I wanted to wait until I get enough experience to do so.” Kevin Abela, the band’s frontman told us.

Limelight‘s music was written by Simon Sammut, while the lyrics where written by local sweetheart Muxu and Ozzy Lino. The latter being also the singer for this hit along with Gloriana. This single reflects the band’s vision and snazzy style along with their mission to bring the funk genre to the masses.
“I’ve been a professional Trumpet player with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra since 1997 and played with almost every Brass Band on the Island.” Kevin said.

“The lyrics were written by the genius pen of Muxu. When we were recording the first demo,” he told Lovin Malta.
“We had nothing in the bridge but Ozzy came up with some rap that he wrote way back in the early 90’s and it’s struck the song in a way that made it different. This addition gave it a unique taste” Kevin said.
Their first album is set to launch next year, but the band has been making waves for quite some time now.
The band will also be performing on the Main Stage at the Farsons Beer Festival on the 3rd of August. Make sure you don’t miss it out.
