Actor and Maltese personality Chris Dingli has launched a crowd-funding appeal video which calls on the public to help bring his one-man-show, Bad Dad, to North America. Dingli will perform the popular show in Chicago, Toronto and New York.
Bad Dad – a semi-autobiographical play about becoming a first-time father – premiered in Malta in November 2015 as a self-produced show at MSpace in Msida. Its positive reception led to a London edition in May 2016 at the Ye Olde Rose & Crown theatre, and one in Birmingham in September 2016. Dingli also reprised the show in Malta at The Splendid in Valletta in the summer of 2016.
After moving onto Brighton this coming May, Dingli has his sights set on Canada and the US – but he needs some funds to get him there.
Dingli’s North American mini-tour consists of the following venues: The Panasonic in Toronto, The Second City in Chicago, and The People’s Improv Theater in New York.
A crowd-funding page on ZAAR has been launched with different tiers of prizes for donors, along with a quirky video which gives a taste of Dingli’s brand of humour and what North American audiences should expect from this Bad Dad.
