WATCH: Maltese Man Quits Day Job, Debuts On VEVO This Morning
Mark Guy Gerard Camilleri is a 24-year-old Maltese man who used to work in the start-up industry. Last January, he quit his job to kick-start his own career as a musician. Today, he finally released his debut single.
Camilleri, who has a Maltese father and a French-English mother, grew up all over the world, from Italy and Germany to Argentina. As a result, he now fluently speaks four languages. After graduating in Economics and Finance at Bocconi University, Mark went on to become a business developer for a world-renowned start-up incubator. Soon enough, though, a different kind of passion took over Camilleri.
“Unfortunately for my family, I picked up a guitar at the age of 17,” Mark said. “Nobody knew then that this would one day be the cause of so many family arguments. By the age of 24 my burning desire to make music for a living exploded, and I decided to quit everything I had worked so hard for.”
Camilleri’s music career officially kicked off today, with his debut single Make You Single dropping on VEVO earlier this morning.
The single is available on anything from Spotify to Apple Music and was officially released on MGGRecords.
Mark regularly keeps his fans updated on his Instagram account, which has been steadily gathering followers. Earlier last week, he teased Make You Mine’s music video with a couple of behind the scenes shots of the set in London.
He also regularly shares quick clips of anything from acoustic versions of song ideas to snaps of Malta, whenever ha manages to make it back home.
