WATCH: Maltese Man Sings The Most Pitch-Perfect Happy Birthday Ever To Colleague
We’ve all been through it before; gathered round a table for a friend’s birthday, someone starts belting out Happy Birthday. And then, whether you’re an avid shower singer or sound like a dying animal, you’re going to be guilted into chiming in. Well, one Maltese guy has just put us all to shame with his pitch-perfect rendition.
The man, Louis Andrew Cassar, went solo to wish fellow colleague Elton a happy birthday. The pair, who both work with The Limestone Heritage, happened to both be in at the same time. Elton, a full-time sculptor, requested that Louis (a restorer who casually works with the company sometimes) sing him happy birthday.
As it so happens, Louis is also a baritone singer who’s even performed with international choirs. Elton had never heard him singing, so it was the perfect opportunity to request a personal cover on his special day.
“I can assure you that, apart from Enrico Caruso (who also used to work with a baker), I’m the only opera singer who sings covered in dust,” Louis joked, wishing his colleague a happy birthday.
Elton looks positively honoured with the opera singer’s special performance, and of course, Louis gets his own reward… in the shape of a big bite of the birthday figolla.
